To the Unconventional Professional...

Your resume isn’t linear.

Your body of experience is unique.

You often have to illustrate how valuable your experiences can be.

You don’t fit into a cookie cutter,

You break molds. 

You have to bend and twist

To prove the relevance of your portfolio.

Constantly trying to prove your potential value to the team.

To. Prove. Your. Worth.

You’ve done it 50, 100, maybe even 200 times.

Olympian acrobatics performed in recruitment screenings

And interview rooms.

And still doors close in your face.

Tightly sealed.

Not because you’re incapable.

Not because you’re un-coachable.

Not because you lack experience.

Not because you haven’t tried to get the experience that's needed. 

But because your experience looks different. 

It’s frustrating.

Infuriating.

Unnerving.

Exhausting.

Your heart knows that every "No" is for a reason,

But your sharp mind wonders, 

Why keep trying just to meet rejection? 

My fellow unconventional candidate,

I implore you:

Don't lose faith.

Your experience may not be carbon copied from the job description.

Cleared by AI,

Appreciated

Or understood.

But it’s YOURS.

Own it.

Enhance it.

Defend it.

KEEP TRYING.

You are still worth betting on.

You are still capable of achievement.

You are still a valuable professional. 

And your time is still coming. 

Certain greatness, I'm learning, just takes time.
